01/02/2012 - CETIAT is a partner of FlowAirS European project
FlowAirS (Silent Air Flows in transport, building and power generation) is an Initial Training Network (ITN) funded under the FP7 Marie Curie programme of the European Commission.

From Dec. 2011 to Nov. 2014, it will bring together early career researchers and experienced colleagues from across Europe, covering key R&D areas for achieving silent air flows. It will lead to new methods for noise reduction in the transport, construction and energy sectors.

Project members are 7 universities, 2 research institutes and 3 companies together with 5 major associated industrial partners (including CETIAT). The project is led by the French research laboratory LAUM (Laboratoire d'Acoustique de l'Université du Maine). Industrial partners include companies such as Audi, Airbus, Bombardier, LMS, Scania, ...

Some of the research topics are of particular interest for CETIAT:
- broadband noise of fans,
- noise generated by air flow in baffle silencers,
- noise absorption in ducts using new materials, including metamaterials.

As a partner of FlowAirS, CETIAT will temporarily host some of the young researchers involved in the project.
